The Lock-Ups

Here are the primary logo lockups for Houzz. The primary logo lockups are recommended in cases where the logo will be scaled down to smaller sizes. As the scale relationship of our logo is fixed, do not adjust the relationship between the mark and the logotype. The mark and word-mark should primarily be locked up horizontally, however when the horizontal logo does not work, use our stacked logo. The stacked logo is best suited for narrow spaces.

The Houzz Mark

Our mark has been refreshed to create a simple, friendly and instantly recognizable icon for a home. The design is clean, solid and geometric with a uniquely slanted roof line that reflects our passion for helping people create homes uniquely their own.

Color Variations

The Houzz mark is our primary logo colorway and should be considered as the first choice in any design. Use the monochrome black and white versions when there is not enough contrast between the background and the Houzz Green mark.

Clear Space

Clear space is an area surrounding the logo that should always be free of text or graphics. This clear space applies to all executions including print, web, broadcast media and promotional items. This clear space should be applied to all cases of the Houzz logo.

Approved photography or illustration can be used as a background, but single images or illustrations must not distract or take away from the clear space rules. As shown to the right, the minimum clear space for the identity and the symbol is based on the height of the mark’s door, expressed as x. More clear space is always preferred.

Minimum Sizes

Our mark has been refreshed to create a simple, friendly and instantly recognizable icon for a home. The design is clean, solid and geometric with a uniquely slanted roof line that reflects our passion for helping people create homes uniquely their own.

Full Color Logo On Solid Colored Backgrounds

It is important to note that we use the full colored version of the logos when applying the logos against our recommended solid colored white and black backgrounds for maximum contrast and legibility. The full colored logos always have the green Houzz mark and should never be modified.

When placing the logo on a gray background, there are two versions of the reversed out logo depending on the background tint percentage. The black reversed out versions of the logo are to be used on 40% gray and below, while the white reversed logos are to be used on 30% gray and higher. Note, this leaves an overlap on 30% and 40% gray backgrounds, where either logo is correct. When selecting which one to use, please consider the media type and elements surrounding the logo.

The reversed out logos are one solid color, changing the white mark to black or vise-versa is not permitted for any reason.

Logo Use in Photography

The following are examples of logo usage on photographic backgrounds. Do not recreate the logo or alter the colors. To ensure the legibility of the logo use the full-color version of the Houzz logo on light photography and the reversed out version for darker photographs.

When using the logo as a photo credit, follow the rules found on the right. These rules have been created to make sure the logo is always visible and does not get lost on photography across our various forms of communication.

Another point to note is that even if the title of an event or material contains our name, do not use our logo instead of typing our name out.
